Field of Daisies

Ecclesiastes 12:7   Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We were visiting the inactive members and felt blessed to find several at home.  On one street we had two families on the same street.  As we turned on the street, the old country homes looked like they were built before the civil war and were never kept up.  It was a short street.  When we arrived at the end of the street we found one of the address that we were looking for.  The home was burned out and we were wondering if this was a dangerous area. As we turned around and headed to the other end we noticed that most of the addresses were not visible.  The opposite corner house, we figured could be the other address that we were looking for.  Two barefoot kids with uncombed hair and dirty clothes were in the front yard across the street.  As we exited the car and walked towards the house we found ourselves surrounded by about 8 barking and snapping dogs.  I was thinking, we prayed for protection this day.  Just then, the kids from across the street appeared and shooed away the dogs before they could take a piece of us.  I asked if they knew which house belonged to the address on my paper?  They said, ‘Right there! (pointing to the house that they came from) It’s our grandma’s, but she is now dead.  Our Mom is here.  Would you like to talk to her?’ We nodded and they went to get her.  Their Mom told us that her mom (the children’s grandma) was driving home after her daughter’s wedding on March 25th when she died instantly of a massive heart attack.  The car, with the grandson, went off the road into a field of daisies and stopped as it touched a big tree.  There wasn’t even a dent on the fender.  A miracle!!! The boy was not injured.  The grandma was only 66 years old.  She was a kind soul that took care of everyone on that street. (They were all related.) She always made sure that her 99 year old Mom next door had her medicines on time.  She helped her sister, at the end of the street,  whose cancer was no longer in remission.   This was the couple who, up until last July, lived in the house down the street until it caught fire from an electrical short and burned down.  ‘Our grandma took care of every one.’ they said, ‘That is why when she died the car took her down into a field of daisies.’
